How to Change Who Can See Your Status on WhatsApp on an Android Device

Preparation

1. Go to Your Phone Menu.
2. Tap on the WhatsApp Icon.
3. Make Sure you are on the “Chats” Tab.
4. Tap on “More Options” Which Is a Three-Dot Icon Located at the Top Right Corner of the Page.
5. Go to Settings.
6. Tap on “Account”. This Will Open Your Account Settings Page.
7. Tap on “Privacy”.
8. Tap on “Status”. This Option Will Show Your Current Settings for Status Privacy. Tapping on It Will Give You the Option to Change Your Settings.
9. Select Your Status Audience From the Menu.
10. You Have three Options "My Contacts", "My Contacts Except"..., or "Only Share with..."
11. Select "My Contacts" if You Want All of Your Contacts to be Able to View Your Status Updates.
12. Select "My Contacts Except..." If You Want to Block Some of Your Contacts From Viewing Your Status Updates. Tapping on This Option Will Bring Up a List of Your WhatsApp Contacts, and Let You Select the Ones That You Want to Hide Your Status Updates From.
13. To Confirm the Changes, Tap the Check Mark in the Lower-right Corner of Your Screen.
14. Go Back to Status Privacy Page Again.
15. Tap "Only Share With..." If You Want to Handpick and Select Whom You are going to Share Your Status Updates With. Tapping on This Option Will Bring Up a List of Your Contacts, and You Will Select the Ones That You Want to Share Your Status Updates With.
16. To Confirm the Changes, Tap the Check mark in the Lower-right Corner of Your Screen.
