How to Turn Off Read Receipts on Whatsapp on an Android Device

Preparation

1. Go to Your Phone Menu.
2. Find Whatsapp.
3. Tap on the Whatsapp Icon.
4. Make Sure That, You Are on the “Chats” Tab.
5. Now, Tap on “More Options” Which Is a Three-dot Icon Located at the Top Right Corner of the Page.
6. Tap on “Settings”.
7. Tap on “Account”.
8. Tap on “Privacy”.
9. Scroll Down to the Bottom of the Screen.
10. Uncheck Read Receipts.
11. Note: if You Turn Off Read Receipts, You Won’t Be Able to See Read Receipts From Other People. Read Receipts Are Always Sent for Group Chats.
